Some listeners suggested the acoustic version should be available as they were used to hearing it on the Hanley and the Baird Girls GO Live sessions. So it was released on the 29th May 2020 and the proceeds for this version will go to the Sing in the City Dreampot and fund music, singing and art classes and projects in local communities.
Annette Hanley and Kirsty Baird are the Directors of Sing in the City and The Dreampot has raised £125,000 over the last 10 years and in the month of April 2020 it raised £5470 for SAMH with the original version of Follow the Rainbows.
The band’s first single went into the Scottish chart at No.3 and into the iTunes download at No.27 with fanbase buying only and no commercial radio play.
Kirsty believes that we are capable of anything we put our mind to. Lack of confidence, low incomes and no support should not be a deciding factor on what anyone achieves.
Even though the first single was at No.3 in the charts it was only community and independent radio that played the song. Look out for Kirsty’s new radio station coming in the summer of 2020.
